1 Power Teacher: Guide to initial set-up and use of OAS

2 Steps to using OAS Create IDs and passwords for all students who will use OAS Create classes in which to assign each student Create and assign tests for students View reports on student performance

3 Create Student IDs and set up Classes

4 Log in with your Power Teacher ID/password

5 To manually create an ID for each student, select the Students tab

6 Select Create a new student

7 Fill in the required information (fields with red check) and any other desired information Tip: Use the student’s GTID for the Student Identifier Login ID must be the student’s 10- digit Georgia Test ID (GTID)

8 Then click Submit Repeat process to create an ID for each student who will be using OAS.

9 Next, to manually create a class or group for each student, select the Classes tab

10 Select Create a new class

11 Give the class a name and a unique identifier

12 Select the grade level of the students to be included in the group/class – the list of students in that grade level should now be showing in the Students Available window

13 Select the names of the students to be added to the class, then click Add.

14 The students’ names should now be listed in the Students’ Enrolled window

15 Select the name of the teacher(s) associated with this class/group, then click Submit

16 Create Tests

17 Select the Tests tab

18 Select Create a new test

19 Give the test a name and a unique identifier; choose any other desired options, then click Submit

20 Select a subject for the test

21 Select a grade level

22 Select a Domain

23 Select a Standard (if available)

24 Select an Element (if available)

25 Click Show Items

26 Put a check to the left of any and all items to be included in the test

27 When all items are selected, click Add Selected to Test

28 Make any needed changes or add more items (click Add Items to return to selecting items); when finished, click Create Test

29 Once tests are created, tests need to be assigned to the class or group. From the Test tab main menu, select the Assign Test(s) to class(es)

30 Select the class/group to which tests will be assigned

31 Click New

32 Select the test(s) to assign to the student(s)

33 Tests can be assigned on Mondays- Fridays during certain hours by specifying dates and times in the Dates Test(s) can be taken and the Time Test(s) can be taken areas.

34 Select any other test assignment options, then click Submit

35 If assignment is not for all students, select the student names to which the test will be assigned and click Submit

36 Next steps: Students can log in and take the assigned test Once students have completed the test, the teachers and administrators can log in and view reports on students’ test performance.

37 Students log in with ID and password that has been created

38 A student can take a pre-constructed test assigned by OAS by selecting the View Student Tests button..or..

39 Students can take tests teachers have created and assigned by selecting the View Teacher Assigned Tests button

40 Once the student has completed a teacher- assigned test, teachers and administrators can log in and view reports from the Reports tab

41 Click the category of report, then choose a report from the list

42 Select the group/class about which you want to view test results

43 Select the test for which you want to view results

44 Deselect any students that do not need to be included in the report, then click Generate Report
