Consumer Contribution Based Contract with Moore County Transportation Services (MCTS) Medical (local and out of county) and Nutrition (Diner’s Club) Moore County Resident 60 + Consumer Contribution Based Home Delivered Meals Transportation Transportation

11 Family Care Giver Program SHIIP Training and educational sessions for caregivers and professionals Volunteer Respite Program Paid Respite Available Video and Book lending library Resource information available Senior Health Insurance Information Program Trained Counselors Assist with questions regarding Medicare Prescription Drug Program, supplemental insurance, and Long Term Care insurance.

13 History Moore County only had 1 of 3 counties in North Carolina without a Senior Center prior to 2007 Fund raising begun in 1997 but was difficult due to the Moore County “Country Club Mentality” County Commissioners not supportive Doors opened March of 2007

16 Future Needs and Development The current population of Moore County is approximately 91M with about 23% of the population being age 65 or older (NC Department of Human Services, 2008) As of 2030 the estimated population of the county will be 102M with a projected 68.9% (66,300) being age 65 or older (NC Department of Human Services, 2008) As of 2030 the estimated population of the county will be 102M with a projected 68.9% (66,300) being age 65 or older (NC Department of Human Services, 2008) Continued development of services and expansion of facilities to handle amount of services that will be needed.
