¡Bienvenidos a la clase de Español! Profesora Kenyetta Allen-Lane 2010-2011

Who am I? (Prfsa. Allen-Lane ) Teaching for 2 years Recently married!!! I have one god-daughter, Kyla Dionne whom I love and 1 daughter on the way. Her name is Trinity Victoria Lane. I love to SHOP, eat, sleep and spend time with family.

¡Las Reglas! Be on time!!! You can not learn all the material I need to teach if you are not in class the entire time. Be in dress code and wear your ID!!! You will not be admitted into my classroom if you do not comply with district rules. Come prepared!!! Bring all supplies needed to be successful in my class.

Rules cont… Rules cont… Stay in your seat from the bell until the teacher dismisses you. Getting out of your seat without permission can cause disruption in the class. Be courteous and respectful to others!!! Remember; if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all. No purses or bags allowed on the desks!!! This can cause a distraction to you and the students around you.

Entering the Classroom Walk in quietly. Greet Prof. Allen-Lane (if I’m available) Sit in your assigned seat and begin the warm up. Have your homework out and ready to turn in when the bell rings.

Tardies Go to the tardy station and get a tardy pass. Put it on my desk with your homework. Sit down and begin the warm up without disrupting the class.

Headings on Papers Everything must have a heading. There is no formal heading but you need to have the following information: Name Date (en español) Class Period Title of Assignment

Homework Submission Put your homework on the left corner of your desk when you take your seat. I will check it as you work on your warm up.

Grading Policy Major grades (tests and projects) are worth 60% of your grade. Daily grades (quizzes, in class activities, homework) are worth 40% of your grade. You will have a minimum of 3 Major per six weeks. You will receive 1 grade per week even though you will have homework every night. Your homework is a “completion” grade. You must attempt all of it to get a grade. You will not be marked down for mistakes. But please note that not doing your homework can cause you to fail. Your semester exam is worth 20% of your semester grade. It is possible to fail for the entire semester if you do not do well on the exam.

Late Work Daily Work One day late: 75% credit. 2 days late: 50% credit. More than 2 days late is a zero. Major papers/projects 10 points off for each day late. No late work accepted after 3 days

The bell has rung; what do you do???? Remain in your seat until I dismiss you. Make sure you have turned in all work and know what your homework assignment is. Throw away all trash around your work area as you leave. Return materials to their correct location.

Exiting the class Please note that periodically we will have a “phrase of the day” and you will be required to recite this to me before you are allowed to exit the classroom. So, in other words KNOW THE PHRASE!!

Fire Drills STAY WITH THE CLASS!!! I take roll once we arrive outside. You will be in SERIOUS trouble if you are not in the designated area with the rest of the class. I do not want to have to WRITE YOU UP!!!

Absences BEFORE SCHOOL STARTS go to the office and get an admit. Bring me your admit before the bell rings and get me to sign it. Do not leave me alone with it!!! Get with your neighbor to get your missed assignments. Check with your neighbor for notes that were taken in class while you were out.

Make up Work For every day that you are absent you will have one day to make up your work. After this time, late work penalties will apply.

I’m looking forward to having a fantastic year getting to know each and every one of you and learning new things together. So let’s work hard, have fun, and enjoy our time with one another!!!
