Advice: Parents & Carers Pupils have weekly article summary activities Pupils have a weekly literary definitions test to prepare for (i.e. 5 definitions per week) Pupils should be reading high-quality newspaper articles – in print or online Parents and carers are encouraged to read and comment on written work produced by the pupil Parents and carers are encouraged to provide pupils with a distraction free area for study use

Advice: Pupils Pupils should be reviewing all literature being studied: classwork notes, annotated copies of poems, blogs, audio editions, etc. Pupils should be creating study cards for all literature studied – important quotations, techniques used, evaluations, etc. Pupils should be reviewing close reading advice – creating study cards to help in the revision of the step-by-step approach; using past papers in order to familiarise themselves with close reading techniques and question types.
