South Carolina DHEC Regions

South Carolina Region Two Cherokee Greenville Pickens Spartanburg Union

Proposed project DHEC Region Two  Inter Hospital Communications  Hospital county wide communications  Hospital DHEC region 2 communications  State wide hospital communications

Hospital Radio Options.  Handheld radio to local repeater.  Amateur Radio Base Station communications from hospital location through repeater systems linked with other systems linked to other counties.  Install repeater on or near hospital. This provides local handheld radio communications or a link to hospital repeaters throughout the region and state.

Why we will use VHF & UHF Frequencies  Communications are considered line of sight  Handheld radios use low power  RF interference is minimal  UHF works better in buildings  Reliable communications to other hospitals require a base unit or repeater.

Repeater operation

Greenville County Hospital Systems Communications  Communications from Greenville County Hospital Systems lower floor levels to repeaters is not possible with handheld radios.  Communications between all Greenville County hospital roofs has been verified.

Topomap Greenville County Hospitals

Amateur Radio Base Station  Monitors and relays appropriate information to units outside of hospital.  Receives information from outside and disseminates to proper locations.  Acts as net control station for communications within the hospital.
