Guidelines for ENSCONET partners in the use of the e-forum.

Due to the necessity of establishing an order in the forum work, it has been generated the present document. Here we’ll explain one way for obtaining good results in our communications using a common path. Forums are not designed for inserting files, but for communication between several people using the same topics organiced in posts. As we’ll see later, there is a little e-mail account (it doesn’t let you submit files, but is a way of communication between partners). We’re going to try to put a copy on each document we recive about themes concerning the project (such as: target audience, minutes, etc.), this documents will be placed in the new area the N5 is developing.

Login and Registration Issues Why do I need to register at all? You must register. The registration will give you access to additional features not available to guest users such as definable avatar images, private messaging, emailing to fellow users, user group subscription, etc. It only takes a few minutes to register so it is recommended you do so. If you are not already registered, please do so!

If you do not check the Log me in automatically box when you log in, the board will only keep you logged in for a preset time. This prevents misuse of your account by anyone else. To stay logged in, check the box during login. This is not recommended if you access the board from a shared computer, e.g. library, internet cafe, university cluster, etc. Why do I get logged off automatically? Login and Registration Issues

How do I show an image below my username? There may be two images below a username when viewing posts. The first is an image associated with your rank; generally these take the form of stars or blocks indicating how many posts you have made or your status on the forums. Below this may be a larger image known as an avatar; this is generally unique or personal to each user. It is up to the board administrator to enable avatars and they have a choice over the way in which avatars can be made available. If you are unable to use avatars then this is a decision of the board admin and you should ask them their reasons.

Posting Issues How do I post a topic in a forum? Easy -- click the relevant button on either the forum or topic screens. You may need to register before you can post a message. The facilities available to you are listed at the bottom of the forum and topic screens (then You can post new topics, You can vote in polls, etc. list) Don’t forget to click on the box notify me when a reply is posted, so that you will be informed quickly.

Search posts Can you search topics in the forum? Yes, click on the relevant button and you will access to a new section in the forum that allows you to search posts by several terms (keyword, themes, authors). Besides you can select the area where the post was typed, and a lot of other tools to concentrate your search.

Difference between people in general, and ENSCONET registered users. The main difference is what they can see. Users not belonging to ENSCONET will only see the public area in the forum, but those people registered and with access to the second level on the forum will see all the areas and can participate in all of them.

Important: Make sure to reply one topic in the correct post. Please don’t open new topics for replying one post. E-forum is not designed for merging the content of one post. If any partner replies to a topic in another new topic, moderator on this area could beg to copy the content in the correct post for delete the incorrect one.

Exist not only for ENSCONET registered partners, but also for general users, a little e-mail account, where ideas can be communicated to the rest of e-forum users. It is interesting to use it because it can make the work easier in the forum since lets you get warnings when you have selected to recive a message when you reply a post, or when you recive a private message. How does it work? It works similarly to other e-mail accounts, it lets you type a new post, receive post, there are inbox, sentbox, outbox and saved box. It’s interesting people use this tool for comunicating.
