3 Accelerated Reading / AR Sophomores need a total of 8 points each AR reading period AR Tests are now worth two daily grades. The first daily grade is based on the total amount of points earned. The second grade is based on the average of all the AR tests taken for that reading period. You must take AR tests during your own time (activity period, lunch, after school). If you have completed ALL of your work, then you may ask to complete an AR test during class. Pre – AP students: You will be required to test over AP novels for two reading periods. 1. October 9 – November 19 2. January 29 – March 17 AR Reading periods/early point due dates are posted in class on the whiteboard. AR reading list can be found in the library. You may earn a total of 5 extra credit points on your overall daily grade percentage (40%) if you earn ALL of your AR points by the AR early due date. If you double the amount of reading points needed during each reading period, you will earn another 5 extra credit points on your overall daily grade. You can only earn a total of 10 extra credit points each reading period.
