Through learning and establishing a portfolio of practically useful IT modules, students will become IT proficient, as demonstrated by their abilities to: –Apply practical tools from selected modules; –Appropriate the technology of IT solutions in some aspects of their disciplines; –Appreciate the possibilities and power of IT solutions; –Adapt to future IT changes.

17 IT 1140 2006-07 Semester 1 17 Course Introduction Practical Test Practical Test: –Held in Week 7 (Oct. 16-20, 2006) –Should go to your own registered lab section –Due at the end of that session –Electronic submission –Detailed submission procedures will be made available on the course website –In case the practical test is an open book test, NO photocopy of textbook is allowed –Remember to bring your own student ID cards –No time extension for late comers –Inexcusable absence will get zero mark; evidence (e.g., doctor sick leave certificate) for any excusable absence must be provided

19 IT 1140 2006-07 Semester 1 19 Course Introduction Final Examination In order to pass the subject, you have to obtain at least 30% of the full mark in the final examination Remember to bring your own student ID cards No time extension for late comers Inexcusable absence will get zero mark; evidence (e.g., doctor sick leave certificate) for any excusable absence must be provided.

20 IT 1140 2006-07 Semester 1 20 Course Introduction Attendance Attendance checking will be conducted as needed. A student who has been absent without approval for more than 15% of scheduled classes shall receive an F grade for the subject examination.
