Resolution – how clear the image appears…the more magnified, the more blurry the image (light bends) C. Types of Light Microscopes – shines light through an object 1. simple – one lens 2. compound – two lenses (what we have) a. magnification of 400 times

Scanning Electron microscope (SEM) a. cells or group of cells have been coated with a thin film of metal. b. can study the surfaces of cells
