2 SGHS Student Information First Period Teacher Tasks Monday 8th Tuesday 9th Wednesday 10th Thursday 11th Friday 12th Week 1 Distribute Forms/Handbooks: Free/Reduced Lunch, Insurance, Student/Parent HB, AKS HB, Agenda Books Collect Forms/Handbooks: Free/Reduced Lunch, Insurance, Student/Parent HB and AKS HB signatures Culture Video Attendance (Born/Stremke) Curriculum (Booher/Hooper) Transportation & Lockers (Burney/Bennett) View on closed circuit, will announce channel Culture Video Behavioral Expectations (Lee/Burney – 9th, Born - 10th, Woodall – 11th, Jacobazzi – 12 th, Poteat 9-12 th ) View on closed circuit, will announce channel Culture Video Media (Hoover/Hallman) Counseling (All counselors) View on closed circuit, will announce channel

3 Priority Schedule Issues…. On August 4 th we will make schedule changes in the orchestra room for these reasons only: –Student has passed a class we have registered them for already –Student is a senior and is not registered for a class they need to graduate this year –Student is assigned to fewer than 6 courses Celebrating 50 Years of Academic Excellence

4 Other Schedule Issues…. Monday, August 8 th, first period teachers will receive 2 copies of their students’ schedules and 1 copy of each students’ course history. Please distribute these documents to your first period students and emphasize that they will need them in all of their classes that day. All teachers will review student schedules on Monday, August 8 th. Each period you will consider your students’ placement in your content area and their previous course history to ensure they are enrolled in the appropriate course. If students are not enrolled in the right course for your content area, you will respond to an onmycalendar survey link. Carrie Booher will send you the link via lotusnotes on Monday, August 8 th. Carrie Booher will download the survey responses on Tuesday, August 9 th and call students to her office if the changes are able to be made. Celebrating 50 Years of Academic Excellence

5 Purpose – –To provide students with opportunities to “connect” with academics, activities/clubs, and each other Make-up work or Academic Assistance – –The receiving teacher must provide the color coded help pass and student must get approved and signed by their 4 th period teacher on Wednesdays/Thursdays only Advisement – –Every Tuesday; all 4 th period teachers and students must participate in activities – –Weekly lessons are provided for each topic

6 First 2 weeks of school in 4 th period…… We will use Comet Connection time to get to know our 4 th period students We have suggested activites for each day on the document linked below.. 8 Academic Assistance/ Make-up Work Procedures 1. 1. Receiving teacher completes AA pass (see link below) & gives to student 2. 2. Student will have 4 th period teacher approve & sign the pass 3. 3. Student arrives and receiving teacher should email teacher that the student has arrived 4. 4. 4 th period teacher should not mark the student absent in SASI 5. 5.
