5. Power Teaching 1) I walk you through something, using hand movements and a quick summary. You MIRROR what I’m doing as I explain. 2) I say Teach… you say “OKAY!” 3) You explain it to your partner. Your partner explains it to you. 4) When I say “Class,” you say “Yes.” 5) And fin.

6. Silently and Independently… Q: Why are we working silently and independently on a day we’re learning about Collaboration? A: Because in real life, you go into every situation with your own thoughts, feelings, and attitudes. We’re going to be doing the same here.

8. COLLABORATION How this will work: I am timing everything. 1 minute: Define the problem with your neighbor. Discuss what you see as the worst part of the situation. 2 minutes: Partner 1 shares the 8 things they would keep. Partner 2 summarizes, gives eyes, gives feedback. 2 minutes: Partner 2 shares the 8 things they would keep. Partner 1 summarizes, gives eyes, gives feedback. DON’T WRITE ANYTHING UNTIL: 3 minutes: BRAINSTORM. Come up with new ideas or discuss whose ideas were stronger. Then, HIGH WAY. Come up with the best list of all.

9. Reflection It’s important to think hard about how we communicate after the fact. It’s the only way we get better. You will be graded on the honesty of your reflection, completing the entire sheet, and discussing what we read today.
