2. Our Success Factors Background
Current Electronic WITS and Staff Suggestion System
(EWSS) was first developed in 1999 and have been in use up till 2010 on the current Lotus Notes (LN) platform.
MOE IDEAS Bank (MIB) is rolled in to replace the current Electronic WITs and Staff Suggestion System (EWSS).
This also gives us the opportunity to streamline the routing and approval process.

System is designed with simplicity in mind and to make it more convenient for staff to submit suggestions
Teachers can access the system via internet.
System is designed to become a platform for sharing of innovative ideas
Ability to see what others have suggested (and build upon them)
Teachers can access MIB via internet.

4. http://ideas.moe.gov.sg User Guide How to Login?
Your Login ID is your NRIC (e.g. S B, case insensitive). Your first time password is set to your birth date, in ddmmyyyy format.
If you have forgotten your password, click on the link and MOE IDEAS Bank will reset your password to eight randomly generated alphanumeric characters. If you cannot receive your password over your , it is plausible that your address in MOE IDEAS Bank is incorrectly entered. Check with your School Administrator.
At the login page, you will login with your NRIC No as your ID and the password will be your birth date.

After logging in, you should be able to see Five panels in your home page:
[My Suggestions]
[Announcements]
[Suggestions From]
[My Profile]
[Set Password]
New suggestions can either be saved (and mulled over), or submitted to your MOE IDEAS Bank Coordinator under [My Suggestions] Panel.
After you login, you will come to your homepage. This homepage will give you an overview that includes your profile and the suggestions you have made previously.

To submit a new suggestion, you will have to fill up the following fields
Title
Content of the suggestion
Category (Select A Category from the list)
Cost Savings (Optional)
Implement Date (Optional)
Contributors involved for the Suggestion
Upload attachments (Optional)
You can choose to
Click on SUBMIT button to submit the suggestion or
Click on SAVE NEW button to save the suggestion and edit the contents accordingly at a later date.
An notification will be sent to all Suggestors and the respective School Coordinators.
At here, you can submit your new suggestions. Under this MIB system, you do not have to provide current situation to give a new suggestion. However, for us to understand the current concern and your suggestion for the improvement better, we would like you to provide us with a short background of the current problem , followed by your suggestions.

You can browse previously submitted suggestions under MY SUGGESTIONS, click on the suggestion to view the contents. Click on “My suggestions report” to download report in excel.
Under Unsubmitted suggestions and Entry of New Suggestions, You can click on the Saved Suggestion(s), edit the contents accordingly and submit.
Please note that you should receive notification whenever there is change to your suggestion status. (e.g. Suggestion Accepted, Rejected, KIV, Escalated)
You can also browse your submitted suggestions under MY SUGGESTIONS . You can either view the contents of each suggestion from the homepage or download the report in excel. The system will notify you through whenever your suggestion status has been updated after evaluation. Accepted suggestion, the lead contributor will receive $2 through your account.

“Suggestion From” indicates the total number of suggestions submitted by your fellow School colleagues and yourself.

You can edit Name, Display Name and accordingly under [My PROFILE].
The Display Name is for the system to address you for any correspondence.
New password with at least 6 characters can be set under [Set Password].
As mentioned earlier, you can also view and manage your profile from the homepage. You can set a display name for yourself.

Under [INBOX], click on the suggestion with “Sealed envelope” icon
The details of the suggestion will be expanded as shown on the right.
Click on the Inbox Message to open the suggestions as shown in following slide.

Review and enter your comments and click on the “SEND” button to submit.
Sometimes when a teacher has made a suggestion pertaining to departments or levels, and if we think that there could be more inputs to the suggestion, we will forward the suggestion to the respective teachers in the department or level to ask for comments and feedback. We hope the teachers who have received this request to respond to the suggestion.
