x Check the Show Detail Box

By default, all publications have been brought in as In Process, meaning that the user needs to go in to the publication and click on Complete Now to submit it to the completed section. This is necessary because some RAE2008 Publication Types differ from RAE2001. Staff are therefore required to choose the correct 2008 category for their publication. Publications which have a Type listed here do not need changed. You should check that all other details are correct and then click on Complete Now. Where a Publication Type is NOT shown, the RAE2001 Type is no longer valid and an RAE2008 Type must be chosen. Click on the publication to choose a Type. The next slide shows how to find all your publications which do not match the RAE2008 Types.

The search facility allows you to select all your publications which do not match the RAE2008 Publication Types. Simply select Type Needed and click on Search. This same search facility allows you to search your publications by Author, Title, Year, Type, RAE Selected and Non-RAE Items.

The only publications showing are those which require a new Type to be selected. Click on this record to add a Type.

Select a valid RAE2008 publication type and either click Complete Now to submit the publication, or click Next Step to check and edit other details. This is also the first screen you would come to when adding a new publication.

Click Add New Author

Enter part of the authors name and click search. If the person required is found, click on Select. If not, click on Add New Person and follow the on screen guide.

Select the author involvement, either RGU or non-RGU author.

NOTE: Authors will be listed in the order in which they are added. If you wish to change the order at a later stage, you will need to delete the authors and re-enter them, or contact CREDO with the publication details and correct order.

Add an abstract and description

Your Research Coordinator will provide guidance on the Description field as this varies between Units of Assessment NEW REQUIREMENT: Choose who the publication is selected for. If selecting your own publications for RAE tick the box next to your own name. This is important as you may be co- author on a publication being submitted for another member of staff and we have to identify which publications you have selected for yourself.
