9 Steps to get modules mapped Syllabuses of overseas module and mapped NUS module should be similar in terms of contents, contact hours and assessments. Students should check the offering semester of the modules in the host university, and plan the modules accordingly. Dummy technical electives should also be from one of the 4 specialisations. Non-ESP modules Refer to http://www.eng.nus.edu.sg/sep/mapping.htmhttp://www.eng.nus.edu.sg/sep/mapping.htm ESP Modules (codes beginning with ESP e.g. ESP3401) ESP Module Mapping Form Study Plan Form Return all endorsed Forms to 1) ESP Office 2) Off of U.Graduate Prog 3) Your own copy + Upon your return Bring Original Transcript to ESP office to start the Credit Transfer process.

10 IMPORTANT “No-No” Do NOT leave the mapping process till the wee hours before you leave. Plan & seek approval in advance. Do NOT take an unapproved module overseas and assume it can be mapped back to NUS. As far as possible, find an equivalent NUS module for mapping. Use Dummy codes only as a last resort. No withdrawal from SEP once finalized. An administrative fee of at least S$300 (up to $500) will apply for withdrawal.

11 Returning from SEP Bring Transcript to ESP office to initiate the Credit Transfer Process. **important especially if the module taken overseas is the pre-requisite module of those intended to read for the following semester. Students may not be able to register in CORS if credit transfer is not completed.
