3 Our Goal To improve the lives of children, young people and families Ensure people working with children have the best possible training, qualifications, support and advice Help childrens organisations and services work together so the child is at the centre of services

4 Who are we? CWDC is one of five bodies forming the UK Skills for Care and Development Sector Skills Council It coordinates the Childrens Workforce Network Will work with other organisations to achieve joint outcomes.

5 Who we represent CWDC works in the interests of a range of sectors, covering about 500,000 workers Footprint includes early years & childcare, educational welfare, learning mentors, Connexions, foster care and social care. It also coordinates the Children's Workforce Network which includes teaching and other school staff, child health staff, youth workers, youth justice workers and playworkers

8 Local Workforce Strategies From April 06 Web based interactive tool kit Regional structure & networks – dissemination of emerging practice Support for creating the workforce for integrated front line delivery Embedding the Common Core, CAF and lead professional role.
