Although Democratic-Republicans won the new HoR seats, the Federalists still held them for a few months. –Many Federalist did not like Jefferson –Many realized Burr was not well qualified 36 ballots and 3 weeks later, finally the Federalists elected the more qualified Jefferson –Burr would never forgive Jefferson for negative statements he made about him
