2 University of Yangon Founded in 1920. Department of Law was one of the six original affiliated faculties* of the Rangoon University.(Now University of Yangon) * Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Science, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Education.

3 Aims and Purposes of University Legal Education University Legal Education should be a support to the building and safeguarding of the society. It should be closely related to the legal profession. In addition it should be supplemental to the profession and should also be based on the establishment of high moral character. The chief aim of Legal Education is to produce lawyers and judges who have good morality and are faithful to the country. 21 Pro Bono Collaborations Sought Pro Bono Collaborations Sought All Law Departments are seeking to have collaboration with Bar Association, Law Firms and Non- Governmental Organizations in particular of pro bono work such as organizational partnership, externship clinic programmes, legal training including mock trial, moot court and community teaching. In implementing the Pro Bono works, the help of Courts and Attorney Offices will also be asked.
