2. Setting s The setting takes place in the Glade. Where they work eat and sleep. There are four main sections where they work. The garden where they grow there crops. The blood house where they raise and slaughter animal for food. Homestead is where some gladers sleep and it is where you go when you get hurt or sick. I feel like it is more in the middle of the glade. The graveyard is in the forest. The glade is surrounded by the maze and the maze is always changing. The cliff is a opening in the end of the maze where you can’t hear something drop that goes down there it just keeps going and going that’s what they think.

4. Characters c Thomas: Thomas is the protagonist, He is about 6 five foot nine with brown hair. He is not like the other boys at the glade. He wants to go home, he is strong he holds back his feelings and thoughts. He is a lot smarter then they give him credit to be. He feels connections with people and doesn’t know why but he does know he wants to become a runner. He is a very curious but it makes sense because if one day you just showed up in a box and in a weird place he wants to know what is going on. He didn’t cry or anything when he first got to the glade. He was different in a way he felt like he has been there before like it wasn’t his first time there. He knows that there is something different about him compared to everyone else who is at the glade. He is a Teresa- She is a static protagonist. Teresa is very pretty, and has the prettiest bright blue eyes she had black long hair perfect white skin Thomas says she beautiful. She is in a coma when she arrives out of the box. She has a note in her hand saying This is the last one ever, they all know something in up not just the fact that she is the first girl and last girl. When she wakes up she knows more about the glade then Thomas did in a week. Thomas and Teresa had a connection. She is very Brave and strong and doesn’t seem that afraid. She remembers some things about the glade from being in a coma. Thomas Teresa

5. Characters c Alby- He is the antagonist, he is about 17 dark skin, short, cropped hair, and clean shaven face. He looks like he is always frowning. He is in charge and won’t let anyone talk to him badly he usually gets final say it what they should do. He is smart and knows a lot about the Glade because he was one of the first people there. Minho- Has short black hair is Asian and has very muscular arms. He is a runner for the maze, one of the first person to ever be at the Glade. He is very strong and won’t give up no matter what happens. He wants to figure out a way out and will do anything. MinhoAlby

6. Characters Griever: A big Creator that is ugly looking. That if you get pricked by it you could die if you are not found or get the right medication. They are scary, they can climb and they slide across the ground. They are in the maze and mostly come out at night time. Chuck is about 12 or 13 years old, has long brown hair, and blue eyes. Chuck is annoying he won’t stop following or bothering Thomas. He doesn’t really care so much about where he is and what's going on he just like to mind his own business and deal with where he is now. He never stops talking he keeps on going and going.

7. Characters Newt: He is a static protagonist. Newt is tall that is all they tell us. He is second in charge after Alby if anything would happen to Alby Newt would become head. He acts rude like he doesn’t care that Thomas is really there he’s going to do what they all ways do with the new green bean. He later on in the story really helps Thomas when he is trying to safe everyone from being eaten one by one. Gilly: Is a bully, who has a carrot like nose. He is mean and doesn’t trust Thomas from the start. He feels like there is something weird about him. After going through the “changing” he knows the real truth about who Thomas is and goes crazy and disappears for a while. Later he comes back and tells them that hiding from the Grievers won’t help, they are going to kill one person each night and he sacrifice himself first.

8. Rising Action The first girl (Teresa) came and had a note saying she's the last one ever. When Thomas hears Teresa talking to him in his head. She’s not even awake yet. When Teresa walks up she knows where to find Thomas right away. They have a connection When the realize that the Grievers have to go re charger some where they find the Grievers hole by the Clift. When Teresa Declares she has triggered the ending. When Thomas gets stung by a griever so he can remember who he was.

9. Climax Alby ricks his life first when they are all lined up on the cliff When Chuck, Thomas, and Teresa jump into the Griever hole and find the computer and start to type the words in and they shut the maze down. They slide down that gross slide that was covered in gross stuff. When they got to the end of the slide and the creators are just standing there watching them, and they are controlling Gilly to throw a knife at Thomas but chucks dives in front of Thomas so that Thomas wouldn’t die but chuck did.

10. Falling Action As soon as chuck dies, they get on a bus. They run over the lady who was trying to help them. When Thomas and Teresa can still talk even out of the glade. When they think they are finally done with the “experiment” but when they wake up there are Zombies.

11. Conflict The gladers need to find a way out. (Man Vs Man) Thomas needs to figure out why he knows this so well. (Man Vs Self) Everybody thinks Teresa is bad and they don’t like her. ( Man Vs Society) Thomas and Teresa help create the glade/maze. (Man Vs Fate) The sky turns gray and it never turns back to normal again in the glade. (Man Vs nature) Ben knows that Thomas created the Maze and is going to end it and is trying to kill Thomas. (Man Vs Man) They are all fighting the Grievers so that Thomas, Teresa and Chuck and de activate them in the Griever hole. (Man Vs fate)

12. Figurative Language

13. Imagery “It looked like an experiment that went terrible wrong. Part animal, part machine, it rolled and clicked on the pathway. Its body resembled a gigantic slug, sparsely covered in hair and glistening with slime, grotesquely pulsating as it breathed. It had no head or tail but from front to back it was 6 feet long and four feet thick.” (pg 126) Big walls surrounding a area, with different doors on different parts of the walls. The walls must be at least 20 feet across and the break in the wall went all the way to the top far above. The edges that bordered the vast opening were left side of the east door, deep holes several inches in diameter and spaced a foot apart were bored into the rocks begging at the ground and continuing its way up. On the right side of the door, foot-long rods jutted out from the wall edge, also several inches in diameter, in the same pattern as the holes facing them on the other side. (pg 27) “They stood in a vast courtyard several times the size of a football field, surrounded by the four enormous walls made of gray stone and covered in spots of thick ivy. The walls had to be hundreds of feet high and formed a perfect square around them, each sides split in the exact middle by an opening as tall as the walls themselves…..” (pg 5) “The early-morning light had a sharp sheen about it, making everything look bright and crisp-the ivy, the cracked walls, the stone blocks of the ground” (211)

14. Foreshadowing When Thomas said that Gilly looks like he would throw a knife at him, later on when they are with the creators Gilly throws a knife at Thomas. When Thomas doesn’t cry when he is at the glade like most of the other boys did he feels like he has a connection and that he has been there before and he’s a part of it.

15. Simile He was ugly as fried liver on a stick (pg 15)
