1. Welcome to the SPAA Online Exam Tutorial This short presentation aims to demystify the online exam process and give you peace of mind as you undertake your SPAA Specialist Exam. We highly recommend that you take 5 minutes to familiarise yourself with the online system prior to sitting the exam.

2. Once SPAA has assigned you your exam you will receive an email containing a link to SPAA’s Online Exam Centre. The link will direct you to the page displayed below. Click on “Login”.

3. Enter the login details provided in the email in to the fields below Click “Login”

4. You will be automatically directed to “My Learning” in your “My Account” section of the Online Exam Centre. You will be able to see the exam which has been assigned to you. Please note carefully the information and instructions below. Your required completion date will be displayed here. The status will display “Not attempted” until you have completed the exam at which time it will then display the “Submitted” message. Once your exam has been approved by the SPAA assessor your status will display “Completed”. The “Details” tab directs you to information about the exam including duration, number of questions etc. You have the ability to “Start” the exam from this page if you wish. 5. To begin the exam click on the “Continue” button If you wish to abort and start the exam at a later time click the “Cancel” button. WARNING Once you have selected “Continue” the exam timer will commence and you will not be able to pause or restart the exam at another time. 6. The first question will be displayed. The question number you are currently viewing will be displayed in black. Select your answer or you may choose to come back to the question. Click the “Next” button to proceed. The question you are currently viewing is black. The timer will tell you how much time you have remaining. Click here to proceed. Click on your selected answer. DO NOT click the “Exit” button.

7. You may only select one answer per question. This warning will appear if you attempt to select 2 answers.

8. Unanswered question – underlined. Answered questions – not underlined. As you progress, you will note that the line is removed from under questions you have answered. Questions you have skipped are easily identifiable as they are displayed in red and are underlined.

When you are satisfied with your answers and are ready to submit the exam click on “End” You may click on an answered question and change your answer. Click to begin the process of submitting your exam.

10. To submit your exam for SPAA assessment, please click on “Submit”. If you click on the “Exit” button, your exam will not be submitted and you will not receive a result. The exam status will appear as “Incomplete” in the “My Learning” section of your account.

11. Confirm you wish to submit your exam The system will then ask you to confirm that you wish to submit the exam – please click “OK”

12. Please note: If you have lost track of time and the timer expires during the exam, your answers will be submitted as at the time of expiry. Unanswered questions will be marked as incorrect. Click “Continue” to submit your exam. You will be directed through the same process as just explained on the previous slides.

13. Once you have submitted your exam, it will be assessed by SPAA. You will notified by SPAA within 5 working days of your result. When you click “Exit” this window will close.
