11 Foundations Clinical Experience #1 Purpose: provides opportunity to identify knowledge, skills and disposition involved in helping all students learn. Scope: Interact with students Assist with instructional tasks as needed via Co- Teaching strategies Become involved in use of instructional media and materials Become familiar with reports, lesson plans and other responsibilities of a teacher

12 Co-Teaching defined “Co-teaching in student teaching is defined as two teachers (cooperating teacher and teacher candidate) working together in a classroom with groups of students, sharing the planning, organization, delivery and assessment of instruction, as well as the physical space.” (Bacharach, Heck, Dank 2004) Both teachers are actively involved and engaged in all aspects of instruction.
