2. The European Choral Association - Europa Cantat is the result of the merger of two major European choral associations. It offers major events for choirs and singers as well as small capacity building and training activities for conductors, composers, singers and managers, connecting people from different communities and in raising awareness for the benefits of singing. So, what is the Carus music choir app? - an app created to help choral singers and conductors with effective rehearsal preparation - a tool to read, hear and practice music on the go - based on more than 40 years of experience in publishing music for choir singers and on a tradition of top recordings What is special about it? - the combination of a high level vocal score with a recording by major artists (e.g. Frieder Bernius, Philippe Herreweghe, Helmuth Rilling, Hans-Christoph Rademann) http://tinyurl.com/carusmusic

What is the aim group? - choir singers of all levels (with sight-reading abilities or without – it can even help improve sight-reading skills) - choir conductors - music students who need to get quickly “into the music” A virtual Music Library which offers for each work in the library: - the vocal score - the recording - a “coach” for one specific voice to choose from

Special features - click on any bar in the score and hear the corresponding bar from the live recording - activate the „coach“ - a piano voice emphasising your voice – just like in a rehearsal, when the conductor accompanies one part on the piano - play at slow speed to practice difficult parts Works available Until now 15 works (all published by Carus, though with recordings from different labels) are available. The list will be expanded and it should be 30 by summer.

Some more information - the app is available for Apple and Android tablets and phones (mobile devices), not computers - the app is free of costs, you can download one free movement of a score for testing purposes, then downloading the full package will cost between 4,99 € and 14,99 € per score - if you have no mobile device, you will be able to buy a CD with the rehearsal coach in normal and slower tempo (but will have to follow the score yourself)
