A.de Saint-Exupéry: Vol de Nuit “…in life there are no solutions. There are driving forces: we ought to create them and the solutions will follow”

How to make the a driving force for

Elect a driving team ( cf. Jumbo jets ): pilot, co-pilot, engineer Create a communication with control tower ( Management Board) Passengers cannot relax and enjoy their flight, they have to make the jet flying.

ACTIVITIES A meeting per year (duration to decide) followed by one-day topical meeting Experimental/Technical updateExperimental/Technical update Theoretical state-of-the-artTheoretical state-of-the-art Topical meetingTopical meeting keep update the physics case

EURISOL User Group: http://www.eurisol.org/site01/indice.php?pag=1s Many theoreticians are involved and more are invited to join. To start with… EURISOL User Group Workshop 14-17 Jan 08, GGI, Florence. 18 Jan: satellite topical meeting on UNBOUND NUCLEI

Current experimental situation and future possibilities towards EURISOL. Related instrumentation developments (possibly linked to JRAs in FP7). Theoretical situation and developments forseen. News from other labs. Contents of the workshop ?? Program Committee Speakers 15th a) Astrophysics 15th b) Neutrino interactions 15th c) Fundamental interactions 16th a) Ground state properties 16th b) Superheavy elements 16th c) Phase transitions/nuclear reactions & dynamics 17th a) Limits of stability active targets 17th b) Single particle & collective properties

Are we not all the same flock after all ?! Avoid repetitions, waste of time, etc… Do not spend our time organizing a life that then we have no time to live Relationships with user groups of existing or developing facilities PROPOSAL EURISOL User Group workshop could follow one of the already existing annual meetings (Isolde, Nustar, Ganil etc….) sometime we could go oversea…

Relationships with TASKS, in particular Task 10: Physics & Instrumentation Relationships with TASKS, in particular Task 10: Physics & Instrumentation. Task10 can concentrate on Instrumentation (simulations, etc…). User Group keeps updated the physics case. Its activities will continue after the DS is presented… Suggestions?

Training for young generation: very specialised or quite wide (ie.theoretician/experimentalist) Relationship senior vs young researcher/student researcher/student Importance of making known already to students completing the undergraduate course Summer Schools for UNDERGRADUATES ( also)…. …use one of the existing schools?? (Euroschool, France national, Varenna, ECT* training…etc…

: Suggestion : get involved otherwise I will do it all my way… and…as in all intercontinental fligths there will be stop-overs and change of crew. get involved

Write while people ask…
