Limited number of providers offer BSE related HE courses Foundation Degrees offered by both colleges and universities Better BSE HE offer in London than many other regions Students travel from other regions to London to access BSE courses Focus on Higher Level Skills needs via Sector Skills Agreement London Action Plan SummitSkills Foundation Degree Framework specification articulates what industry wants Fds to look like

3 BSE Foundation Degree development Updating framework specification to allow more flexibility for options to meet local needs Developing an endorsement scheme in conjunction with FdF for Fds that are in line with our framework specification Planned community of practice for Foundation Degree providers

4 Where we want to be Providers work with employers to understand needs of industry and respond with appropriate solutions Employers automatically look to HE sector to address higher level skills needs Employers and individuals can access the training and education they need when and where they need Providers and Employers collaborate to address skills needs relating to current & future growth areas such as low carbon

5 Low Carbon Skills opportunities Qualifications and CPD opportunities mapped to NOS Proposal for a Green Skills National Skills Academy Innovation & Research involving HE, employers & manufacturers Effective collaboration between HE – Centre for Efficient & Renewable Energy in Buildings (City, Kingston and LSBU)
