Jr. Beta Pie Fundraiser All Junior Beta Club members who plan on attending the Junior Beta Convention in March are required to sell at least 15 pies or provide a non-refundable deposit of $100 to Mrs. Winton by October 31, 2013.

This is what the pie form looks like

Pie form, cont. Get contact info for all customers—make sure you know how to reach your people. Make sure you write the totals on the form! This is very important when I place the orders and when we separate them once they arrive. Double check that you have collected/turned in the correct amount of money. Checks should be made payable to Central Magnet School.

Pie form, cont. Listen to the announcements to hear when the forms arrive. They should be here sometime next week. Come to the library to pick up your form. This is your responsibility.

How does the fundraiser work? Each student should sell at least 15 pies. You must sell pies or turn in your deposit by October 31 st in order to be eligible to attend convention! Pies cost $15 each and we receive profit based on the original cost of the pie. Here is the breakdown of profit for each type of pie: Peach $9.17 Apple $10.01 Cherry $7.21 Pecan $7.49 Choc. Cream $9.65 Caramel Apple Nut $8.63 Boston Cream $7.62 Pumpkin $8.31 No Sugar Apple $7.79 French Cream Cheesecake $6.17

Important dates to remember Thursday, October 31—turn in all order forms and money to Mrs. Alvarado. I will place the order on Thursday afternoon, so you will not be able to turn in late orders. Friday, November 22 @ 3:00 pm—pick up all pies in Mrs. Winton’s room. They come frozen so we will not hold pies over the weekend. Make appropriate arrangements. Deliver pies before Thanksgiving.

Tips for selling pies Be enthusiastic and polite. Explain to your customers why you are selling the pies—talk about convention and how the money will help your club. If someone tells you “no,” be respectful but give them an option to contact you if they change their mind.

Who should you ask? Everyone ! Parents and family members Teachers (see the CMS website for a list of all faculty members) Get permission to go door to door in your neighborhood Get permission to visit retirement living facilities such as Adams Place Talk to people at your church or place of worship Ask your parents to sell to their co-workers

Questions? Visit Mrs. Alvarado or email her alvaradoe@rcschools.net if you have any questions. alvaradoe@rcschools.net
