2 Transportation Enhancements (TE) Program What is the Transportation Enhancements (TE) Program? What is the Transportation Enhancements (TE) Program?  TE is a federal reimbursable capital- improvement program: - California receives over $60 million per year for six years (2004-2010) - minimum local or state match of 11.47 % required - projects must comply with federal environmental requirements and other federal regulations (including a DBE program)

3 TE Program Eligibility What makes a project a TE project?  Transportation enhancement activities must have a direct relationship to the surface transportation system system: - by function - by proximity - by impact  Activities must be over and above normal projects, including mitigation  The activities must be from one of the twelve eligible categories - this list is exclusive

23 How do we apply for TE funds? The Regional (RTIP) Share Regional Transportation Planning Agencies RTPA) receive 75% of California’s TE funds and choose when and how they select projects.
