The core of Arts in Practice: - A student working outside the walls of ou art institute. E.g. in a company, a studio of an artist, a museum, a gallery or a temporary initiative ? - Confrontation with audience? - not purely executive functions. No “listen-and-do- training”. -With a degree of autonomy working on an artistic project a master student worthy.

Where? - A museum - gallery - a cultural institution - a government agency - a temporary project such as an exhibition or an investigation based on an organization - community art projects - photo studio, film studio, graphic design agency,… - as an assistant to an artist or designer - …

Where? - Belgium or abroad. - Combining an arts in practice project with a stay abroad. - the training agreement will be stated in a contract between University College Ghent, the student and the external partner. (also insurance abroad)

Choosing an art in Practice Project? Two possibilities: A) Students will accept an offer which was prepared by the coordinators. B) Students find themselves a project in the field

Practical matters - 3 credits = 10days / 6 credits = 20 days / 9 credits = 29 days - Not necessarily iterated, can be over a longer period or even the whole academic year depending on the project. Discuss this with your coordinator - Also the summer months July and August are possibilities. - Depending on the project and the external partner: possibility for a compensation for expenses (transport, materials,…). - An accurate description of your tasks are important and necessary. Theuy will be written down in the contract. This to avoid misunderstandings, facilitating guidance, avoiding problems with insurances,..etc
