4 Presentation of 8 th March To brief the Portfolio Committee on the suite of Human Resource Development (HRD) programmes:  To share how Human Resource Development (HRD) is tackled within the CSIR as institution in the National System of Innovation  To use the above as springboard for Members to consider group- and personal development interests

14 CSIR: Innovation Learning DescriptionAudience I Scene setting event for leadership: Leadership opportunity to reflect on own individual and collective attitudes and practices as key factors in determining the quality of CSIR innovation. Leaders involved in steering, resourcing or evaluation of innovation II Introduction to SMI Covers the SMI cycle in practical and participative manner over a two day period with a half day follow up to reinforce and capture learning Knowledge Workers involved in one or more aspects of innovation III SMI Practitioner This skills programme will equip participants with knowledge and skills to master a range of techniques used in the SMI process Staff responsible for SMI process elements as part of the research, analytical or creative phases of the SMI
