3 Supporting Details The sentences that should support the topic sentence.

4 Closing Sentence Sentence that should restate, review, or emphasize the main idea of the paragraph. Conclude the main point.

5 Good Essay Topics What is the best invention of all time? Why? Is ambition always a good thing? Can you think of when it might actually be harmful? Do you think you would like to be a teacher? Imagine what it would be like, think of the good and bad aspects.

6 Good Topic Sentences The best invention of all time is the oven. Ambition is not always a positive attribute to have. I believe that I would be an effective teacher to students. What is the best invention of all time? Why? Is ambition always a good thing? Can you think of when it might actually be harmful? Do you think you would like to be a teacher?
