2 Study Tips - Know your strengths, weaknesses and study style. - Study everything on bibliography and inside publication, including referenced material. - Use available study aids, guides, additional sources (www.navystorekeeper.com) - Focus on: 1. numbers ( dates, months, years, maximum, minimums, etc.) 2. roles and responsibilities 3. policy - Study each reference thoroughly and repeatedly (flash cards and notes) - association and memorization - You can NEVER study too much information!

Commander, Naval Safety Center (COMNAVSAFECEN): - Navy program manager for recration, athletics and home safety - Develop program guidance, provide support and assistance, and monitor all aspects of recreation, athletics and home safety for the Navy - On request, conduct safety surveys for commands Responsibilities NAVY DOCTRINE FOR ANTITERRORISM/FOR CE PROTECTION Reference: NWP 3-07.2

Commander, Navy Personnel Command (COMNAVSPERSCOM): - Provide general supervision and technical administrative guidance for all recreational services - Ensure facilities personnel are provided safety training - Evaluation potential hazards during design, operation and maintenance of facilities and equipment

5 Responsibilities (cont’d) c. Commanding Officers: - Implement a comprehensive and active recreation, athletics and home safety (RAHS) program - Designate a RAHS program manager in writing

6 Elements of the RAHS 1. Participation in council meetings 2. Facilities and Equipment Evaluation a. Review of material prior to purchase b. Conformity to American National Standards Institute (ANSI) 3. Inspections a. Recreation facilities and equipment will be inspected AT LEAST ANNUALLY b. results of inspection will be forwarded to CO within 15 working days following completion of the inspection NAVY DOCTRINE FOR ANTITERRORISM/FOR CE PROTECTION Reference: NWP 3-07.2

7 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) a. Use of PPE will be required and enforced for all hazardous recreational activities when personnel are either on or operating government property or participating in command-sponsored events b.
