13 Jump to first page Demo Examples n Instant Scanned Documents for sharing Demo n Demo Digital Photos Captured from Camera n Demo of Photo Quality PDF Documents Scanned to be Read from a Free Reader n Automatic Interactive Forms & Database Creation Demo n Demo Images captured & catalogued n CD-ROM Interactive Search Demo n How these can be used for building Quality “Casemanagement Tools”

14 Jump to first page Common Gateway Interface? CGI is standard for interfacing external applications w/ Web servers Executed in real time CGI program transmits info to database engine getting results it displays back to client C or Fortran must compile program Perl or Unix script resides in cgi-bin directory- easier to debug, modify, maintain

15 Jump to first page New Management Skills Required n From paper-based to electronic documentation requires planning n Electronic texts offer new ways to store, retrieve, update, and cross-link info n Hypermedia documents cross-linked via keywords and integration of audio and video files n As documents become ALIVE, managers must control access, privileges, interconnections, editing
