1 Final Unit

2 Description: Your task is to design a unit for five classes that teaches some topic of middle / secondary mathematics (6th grade and up) using: a)inquiry-based exploration b)that involves the use of technology. c)centered around a unit or chapter a textbook or curriculum. Many are available in the curriculum section of the library.

3 Grades By Rubric Specified.

4 Format Your unit will be a single word file, including all worksheets and figures, in Microsoft Word format. It can be handed in on disk, USB disk, or email as a zipped file.

5 In this one file, your project should include the following items: 1. Title page that includes title of the unit, course/grade level, time span, and tools (technology & manipulatives) used. 2. A list by lesson of the NYS CORE curriculum that are addressed in the unit. 3. A description and list of references you used for this unit. For journal articles, give title of journal along with date or volume number, title of article, author, and pages. For textbooks, give publisher, title or book, author, chapter and pages used, and copyright date. For internet resources, give URL, title, author. 4. A description of materials and equipment needed. If you use a textbook for assignments, indicate the series used. 5. A one page overview of the entire unit with a brief description of what will be done each day. This should be in outline or chart format. In addition to the above.

6 Daily lesson plans that include: (a) objectives, (b) outline of the activities with instructions for the teacher, (c) student handouts, transparencies (optional), and homework (if not from textbook), (d) answer key. Please number your pages.

8 Due date, Friday December 7, at 5:00pm. 1 point will be deducted from your final score for every hour it is late.

9 If you Choose to Present a Movie You and your students must sign permission forms. Contact us. We will do the filming for you. Present a complete lesson plan for this lesson following the previous format.
