9 Competition Competitors for the meets will be determined weekly based on performance in practice. There are a limited number of entries per event at each meet.

10 Equipment The school will issue meet participants: Sweat top and bottom Meet top and bottom Spiked shoes for those who qualify for sprinting/jumping events. The athlete will be responsible for a replacement charge for any equipment not returned at the end of the season.

11 Transportation to and from Meets All athletes are expected to ride the bus to and from meets. A parent MUST sign out his/her child on the coaches’ sign out sheet any time they take the student home from any meet other than meets taking place at Klein Collins Stadium.

12 Practices Boys and Girls will workout together from 7:00 am until 8:30 am. In case of inclement weather, practice will be held in the building.

14 Volunteers Timers are needed for our track meet Thursday night, Feb 12 th, 5:15 to approximately 8:15. Please sign up at the table if interested. No experience needed.

15 Injuries Report to coach immediately. Klein Collins trainer is available. At meets, a trainer or EMS is on duty. Coach will fill out a first report of injury form.

16 Calendar Please refer to it for meet times, sites, & practice times. Please be prompt when picking up your child after a meet.

17 Hydration Drink plenty of water before, during and after practice. Stay away from carbonated drinks or drinks with caffeine in them. Sports drinks with a blend of carbohydrates and electrolytes can be beneficial for re-hydration.

18 Nutrition Eat lots of fruits (bananas, oranges, apples, etc.) Stay away from greasy or fried foods especially right before a contest. Try to eat 3 good meals a day.

19 Jersey Mike’s Subs Jersey Mike’s will provide nutritious meals on meet day for your child. Meals will be delivered to Schindewolf. Cost $5.50 or $6.50 options. Representative Mr. Dallas Brown is here to give you information. Orders and payment can be completed tonight through Mr. Brown. All money is handled directly through Jersey Mike’s.

27 Insurance FAQs Is my child already covered? Yes, KISD has a policy on every athlete in the program with a $500 deductible

28 Insurance FAQS Will the $500.00 deductible be applied even if the parent’s insurance pays part of the bill? Yes, unless the parent purchased the voluntary student insurance, then it covers it.

29 Insurance FAQs Does the parents’ insurance pay first? Yes, the KISD policy is a secondary policy.

30 Insurance FAQs What if the parents have no other insurance? The district policy will pay as the primary, minus the $500.00 deductible.

31 Insurance FAQS If the voluntary student insurance is purchased, will this affect the deductible? Yes, this will normally cover most of the deductible

32 Insurance FAQS Are there other advantages in purchasing the school insurance? Yes, it will also cover other activities and the 24 hour coverage will cover at home and in the summer

33 To File a Claim 1.Submit claim form within 90 days of accident. 2.Begin treatment within 90 days of accident. 3.Submit 1 claim form per accident. 4.Submit charges to primary insurance carrier first.

35 Closing Inform staff when your child must miss practice. Monitor your child’s grades. Keep schedule handy. Check web sites for meet day information, any canceled practices or meets, etc.

36 Reminders: Pick up any forms needed. Turn in any forms you have completed as soon as possible. Come out and support your Timberwolves. Thank you for your attendance!
