4 MI is a “Great” Organization A great organization is one that delivers superior performance and makes a distinctive impact over a long period of time. It is not how much money do we make per dollar of invested capital, but But How effectively do we deliver on our mission and make a distinctive impact, relative to our resources.

5 Team of Great People A “Genius with 1,000 helpers First Who Get the right people on The bus. Build a superior Executive team Then What With the right people, Figure out the best Path to greatness First What Then Who

6 First who – Getting the Right People on the Bus Do whatever you can to get the right people on the bus, the wrong people off the bus, and the right people into the right seats Greatness flows first and foremost from having the right people in the key seats, not the other way around. As the culture of discipline tightened, the wrong employees found themselves to be viruses surrounded by antibodies, and some self- ejected.

7 Then What – 1 What you are deeply passionate about 2. What you can be the best in the world at, and 3. What best drives your resource engine.

8 What Passion – Understanding what your organization stands for (its core values) and why it exists (Its mission or core purpose) Best at – Understanding what your organization can uniquely contribute to the people it touches, better than any other org on the planet. 9 Disciplined People Disciplined Thought Disciplined Action

10 Act on the Important – don’t react to the urgent holiday Mega Project Salary

11 Go for the Extraordinary – don’t settle for ordinary

12 Schedule the Big Rocks – don’t sort gravel

13 Rule your Technology – don’t let it rule you

14 Fuel your Fire – don’t burn out

15 Live Long Learning What you have learned this week will become obsolete in the next few years, and what are required for the future, have not been invented yet.
