5 Identifying Students using the Entrance Criteria Use it for any student you are considering making a request for Do not change the rubric Do not mail the entrance rubric with request –These will be reviewed at your technical support visit! –Include the score on the Roster

6 Entrance/Exit Rubric  Your LEA/Charter should define what Facilitation/Coordination of Services will look like in your program.  You may serve students with a sore of 20 and above!

7 Preparing the PRC 29 SIF in CECAS If the student already has 29 information in CECAS, still complete the 29 list screen with a 29 Eligibility of Request and complete a Baseline Student Information Form (SIF) Paper copies for non cecas users Roster for everyone submitting a grant request

10 Lets Recap Only choose services in the CECAS dropdown box when making a request May 1 –DO NOT CHECK ANY INTERVENTIONS! Mid year and End of year you choose interventions provided during those semesters of service.

11 Request for Funding A request for funding form is required for each different position requested. –Example One request for a Behavior Liaison and one for a Behavior Assistant -Or- One request for 2 Behavior Liaisons

13 b) Service Description: Please explain the details of the service to be provided. Details…..that tell what this position will look like in your LEA/Charter Use specifics Give examples Remember the goal of the grant

14 c) Short term Indicators: Short-Term Indicators: For the service requested in section (a), describe short-term indicators which demonstrate how the service provided is effective. Each indicator must be measurable and clearly related to the progress towards long-term goals for the student(s). Short- Term Indicators must demonstrate how the position will be used to change student(s) behavior as it relates to the IEP behavioral goal and/or behavioral intervention plan. –Measurable –Think IEP –In addition or add on services

15 d) Long-Term Indicators: Long-Term Indicators: Describe long term indicators which demonstrate how the service provided is effective. Long-Term Indicators must demonstrate how the position impacts student’s grades, attendance, suspensions, incident(s) of violence, reading scores, math scores and hours in school. You must be specific EXAMPLES

17 Ask for the total of what you need for the position…include benefits, etc. Make sure position matches the Request for Funding page Only ask for Salaries….No Travel, Subs, materials or Lunch Money Be as accurate with students being served as you can Category Percent of is asking what % of the salary will be covered by 29 funds?

18 29 Staff Roles and Expectations Behavior Specialist/Liaison –Minimal provision of service is 2 direct face to face contacts per month –Direct contact consists of evidence/research based intervention designed for that student and his/her behavior –PBIS Collaboration ONLY –Use Your Percentages!Percentages

19 29 Staff Roles and Expectations Behavior Support Assistant –Planned, Transition or Crisis –Provide Evidence/Research based interventions –Maintain daily progress monitoring reports What about site based BSA –Planned, Transition or Crisis

20 When School Starts… If your LEA/Charter requested funding you will be notified I don’t know when! I understand this is frustrating! If you are awarded Money PLEASE make student Eligible on CECAS –Date to use… First day of school Date letter is received

21 Non CECAS Users Send in Copy of Roster with eligible students once grant has been awarded. –Email to Joe Simmons, Dywanda Pettaway, and Regional Consultant

22 Spring Addendums End of year…$1,000 or less unencumbered 029 funds. –Request to use for materials or staff development for behavior liaison. A written request for the change should be submitted to the Behavioral Support and Special Programs Section on the Addendum - Utilization Of Existing Behavioral Support (PRC 29) Funds Form. Check the Year 13-14!Check the Year

23 When? Send in your Spring addendums between May 15 th – May 31 st Please be specific Itemize requests with cost Last Day for Regular Addendums is May 10 th

24 End of Year Report Due September 1, 2014 –Report on any student you served for at least 45 days –Pull data from second semester Get your data before it vanishes Non CECAS reporters use paper SIF forms

25 Reporting Suspension/Attendance Reports Due the 10 th Mid Year Budget Report? End of Year Certification Report –Next Report due

26 Validation Visits new and improved! Technical Support visit by regional consultant each year or as needed! Validation Visit by DPI every three Years.
