Systems of Linear Equations A Practical Approach to Problem Solving

What if… Two trains run on parallel tracks. The first tra9in leaves a city ½ hour before the second train. The first train travels a 55 m/h. The second train travels at 65 m/h. How long does it take for the second train to pass the first train?

…but I dont ride trains… Suppose you and a friend are going to the beach, but you leave an hour after your friend does. You are also driving 15m/h faster than your friend. How long will it take you to catch up with her?

Ok…traveling- what else? You want a new cell phone plan. One company charges \$30 for the line and then \$0.25 a minute. The other company charges \$45 for the line and \$0.15 a minute. How many minutes do you have to talk for the two total prices to be equal?4

Problem Solving Systems of Linear Equations help you solve the previous three problems and many, many more!
