6 + Sample Introduction 1 This poem is all about street violence and how people don’t get involved. It’s about a man and a women who get pushed through a window by some thieves. The poet is telling us not to stand by and watch others suffer. © www.mrsharpetheteacher.com

8 + Sample Introduction 3 Edwin Morgan’s poem, “Glasgow 5th March”, is one which I read recently. It is about a young man and his girlfriend and how they are attacked in Glasgow by some youths who want to rob a shop. They get really badly cut. The youths don’t care and just rob the shop. In the background some people are in cars but they just drive past and don’t look or stop to hurt, even though the couple have been badly hurt. The poem is about….. © www.mrsharpetheteacher.com
