6 *Windows 8 If you are using a Windows 8 system and your default PDF reader is the Reader app, when you attempt to open a PDF in Special Services, the PDF does not always display correctly. For best performances, we suggest using Adobe Reader to open this files instead. http://get.adobe.com/reader/

7 Staff Role Last year in one of the Releases the Gradebook roles changed to allow Class View or School View in Special Services for any user who had a class assigned to them but also needed building wide access with the following roles: Guidance Principal Clerk School Admin

8 Hiding Students If a Case Management Class is shared by many teachers and students are missing, check to see if they were hidden in the Gradebook. Students should not be hidden except for students with a red W after their name. These are withdrawn students.

9 Sps Release 14.4.0 Defect Resolutions 504s – When using CFE (Create from Existing) the contents of the 504 Evaluation will now copy to the 504 Plan with the 14.4.0 update. – This was not working in previous versions when Optional forms were added.

10 Sps Release 14.4.0 Once a 504E is complete the following fields can be copied to the 504P by doing a CFE (Create from existing). – From the 504 Evaluation Section-2 Eligibility Determination – To the 504 Plan Section -1 504 Plan

11 Sps Release 14.5.0 Printing – Printing web forms in Special Services no longer uses Adobe Live Cycle server. – PDF Forms are generated and Print from the web browser Complete – When you complete tasks you are no longer required to connect to Adobe Live Cycle server.

12 Sps Release 14.5.0 Rich Text Editor – In the comment boxes on many forms, users now have the ability to use rich text elements. – When you click inside the box, if the text editor is available, a toolbar will display near the top of the textbox. – With this toolbar, users can alter the appearance of text, add bulleted lists, and insert tables and images.

14 Sps Release 14.5.0 Copy/Paste using keyboard commands For IE, Firefox & Chrome – Copy: Highlight and right click copy - or- hold the CTRL key + C – Paste: Hold the CTRL key +V For Safari Copy: Highlight and right click copy - or- hold the CMND key + C Paste: Hold the CTRL key +V

15 Sps Release 14.5.0 Default School Year The Default School Year 2014-2015 for new tasks is now updated to 2014-2015.

16 Sps Release 14.5.0 New School Years On the Start a New Task screen, you now have the option to select the 2017-2018 school year in the School Year drop-down list.

17 Sps Release 14.5.0 EMIS Module – The EMIS Review Report defaults to the new school year – 06/01/2014 to 05/31/2015

18 Sps Release 14.5.0 EMIS Module – The Build EMIS Extract defaults to the new school year – 06/01/2014 to 05/31/2015

19 Sps Release 14.5.0 Reports – Print Blank forms You now have the ability to print individual blank forms

20 Sps Release 14.5.0 Progress Reports – are no longer being developed to display in landscape view. – All Progress Reports are now Portrait View. – They cannot print landscape. – Dates are smaller on the 8- reporting period – Progress Codes may get truncated and need to be shortened.

21 Defect IEP Summary – Any new IEP Summary is showing rich text formatting code before the goals & objectives. – This is being addressed in two stages. In 14.6 the text code will be removed. In 14.7 the report will be rewritten using different technology to allow better use of rich text formatting.

22 Defect Completed Tasks When a new IEP Task has more then one goal and is Completed, the first goal is in the correct sort order The remaining goals are at the bottom of the IEP. *This is scheduled to be fixed in 14.7.0

23 Defect Spell Checker The Spell Checker does not work on any of the new textboxes with the rich text tool bar. Some users are getting an oops error Some users are getting the spell checker, but when they run it no corrections are made. *This should be fixed with the 14.6 Release

24 Defect Copy/Paste Charts – The copy/paste feature does not work with Word. – The table copies as a picture and lays over the textboxes. – The work around is to create the table in Excel. *There is no timeline for when this will be fixed.

25 Defect Bank and Standards Imports Importing user banks and standards are causing oops errors. This has been reported. The work around is to import from the banks or the standards first Then enter data *There is no timeline for when this will be fixed.

26 Defect 504 Evaluation Misspelled On the 504 Plans, the word Evaluation is spelled incorrectly at the top of the following pages: Evaluation Grievances *This will be corrected in 14.6

27 Defect View Archived Forms Users are getting a 404 server error when attempting to view Archived Forms. I have reported this. In the meantime, it is possible to get to those archived forms. The problem is that the “View Archived Forms” link is trying to open a file with “-BAK” included in the file name. If you remove just the “-BAK” part from the file name in the URL and hit enter the form will be displayed.

28 Sps Release 14.6.0 Student Properties – Student Properties will now include Student District id and Date of Birth

29 Sps Release 14.6.0 Page Number Option by Open Task – The users will now have the ability to keep or remove the page numbers on the forms in Open Task – Check is selected as the default

30 Sps Release 14.6.0 Page Number Option by form – The users will now have the ability to remove the page number on the individual forms – Check is selected as the default

31 Sps Release 14.6.0 Draft Watermark Option by Open Task – The users now have the option to overlay a “Draft” watermark on all the forms in Open Task – “Draft” watermark is not selected as the default

32 Sps Release 14.6.0 Draft Watermark Option by Form – The users now have the option to overlay a “Draft” watermark on an individual form – “Draft” watermark is not selected as the default

33 Sps Release 14.6.0 General Invitation – Users will now have the ability to import Parent address on the General Invitation – Select the radio button for the parent information, click import

34 Sps Release 14.6.0 Add Forms – Wording has been changed Previously: Add Optional Forms Changed: Add a Form

35 Sps Release 14.6.0 Special Education Events Forms – All Versions – PSTC – Preschool Transition Conference Date Now includes an Outcome ID with the following options: – A Blank Value – ****Not Applicable – PSNR Parental delay not requested – PSPD Parental delay of subsequent required activities requested Outcome ID updates the EMIS Data Collection Form & EMIS Extract

36 Sps Release 14.6.0 FIEP Removed – The FIEP Task Selection has been removed because it is no longer required for EMIS Reporting – Previous FIEP Tasks created will still b available Rich Text Editor Enhancement – When using the Rich Text Editor, you can now resize columns when a table has been added Disability Name Change – On ETR forms and tasks, the disability condition “Cognitive Disability” is now renamed “Intellectual Disability.”

37 Sps Release 14.6.0 Summary of Performance Task – The Summary of Performance is a separate task to be used for providing a summary of a student’s academic achievement, functional performance and recommendations on how to assist students in meeting their postsecondary goals.

38 New Reports Accommodations w/TGRG – If a short statement is enter under the Reading dropdown box for the Third Grade Reading Guarantee, this will pull into a report. – The statement should start with a Yes/No. – There is a limit of 50 Characters.

39 Create from Existing Create from Existing (Prior) When creating a copy of task, all the data moves over including dates and Special Ed Events. Create from existing a RIEP task to an AIEP Task – Must change dates on Cover Page – Must change dates and outcome on Events Page – Must remove extra data for the RIEP on the Special Ed Events Page
