5. BACKGROUND OF STUDY There are many laboratory accident happens in Malaysia. There are few type of regulation or act in Malaysia. “Occupational safety and Health Act 1994 and the Environmental Quality Act, 1974 vis-à-vis the Environmental Quality (scheduled waste)(Amendment) Regulations 2005”

6. There are some causes which laboratory accident happens: Lack of working understanding hazards Improper or unintended use of equipment or reagents Inexperienced scientist Distractions, lack/loss of attention to task Broken, damaged glassware or equipment

7. To examine the awareness level of civil engineering students. To determine possible ways in preventing accidents.

8. What is the awareness level of civil engineering students when conducting the experiments in the lab? What are the possible ways to preventing accidents happened in the lab?

9. SCOPE OF STUDY Students must wear suitable clothes, boots and even helmet during the experiment in lab. students must have proper discipline during laboratory work. Personal appearance and hygiene are also important during the lab carried on

10. METHODOLOGY The methodology for data collection is by using the quantitative way(s) that is by questionnaires and/or interviews. Type of question: MCQ, Open-ended question Target: civil engineering students Quantity: 60-70 students
