2 Expectations for Students All students will Come to class on time with materials, homework, and current work. Follow classroom routines and rules. Complete class work and homework on time. Respect classmates and teacher. Work to the best of his/her abilities.

5 What is a Lexile Measure? A Lexile measure is a valuable piece of information about either an individual's reading ability or the difficulty of a text, a book or magazine article. The Lexile measure is shown as a number with an "L" after it. For example, 880L is 880 Lexile.

8 Students will be graded on the following: – Classwork (40%) Shared inquiry discussions, tests, and quizzes – Independent Reading (25%) Reading Logs & Readers Responses, Book Hooks – Written Assessments (20%) Writing about reading – Homework (15%)

9 WEEKLY Reading Log Independent Reading work Responses based on reading  Homework is expected to be handed in on the scheduled due date.
