TPAP Child Care Program Nora Sanchez, Director Currently licensed to serve 24 children There is a waiting list May possibly relocate to Lamar campus next year, perhaps will be licensed to care for 40 children Open to all district students, not just Options Eligibility: Students must turn in report cards every 6 weeks and must be receiving credits Attendance checked frequently to ensure that teen parents are in school

Epsilon Class (Class of 2007) 75 students have applied for 60 slots Interviews completed by the end of March

Future Plans MISD is exploring expanding the IB Program MYP – Middle Years Program (grades 6-10) PYP – Primary Years Program (grades K-5)

8 th Grade Program Provides services to district 8 th graders who have failed at least once in middle school Provides opportunity to complete middle school and begin working on high school courses so that they are not far behind their peers

8 th Grade Program: Achievements Of the 60 students who began the program, 28 students have already been promoted to the 9 th grade and are taking high school classes with Options students Several are expected to complete this school year with 6 high school credits and become sophomores next year

Options High School: Background Has been in existence since 1991 Purpose: Provides an alternative setting for District students who have not succeeded in traditional schools Smaller class ratios Self paced curriculum Open entry-exit

Options High School: Highlights 97% graduation rate last year $232,310 awarded in scholarships This year Options students won 3 out of 4 scholarships available in the state for the Texas Alternative Education Association VASE (District Art Competition): Eight local medals won by Options Students Eight local medals won by Options Students Two Options Students Advancing to State Two Options Students Advancing to State
