2 Overview of KLR The Kentucky Legislative Review (KLR) System was developed to streamline and automate the process used by agencies to review and respond to pending legislation during session of the Kentucky General Assembly. The Governor’s office uses this system to find out a Bill’s impact on the various agencies of state government. KLR is used to assign Bills for review, review an assigned Bill, submit reviews of Bills, browse pending legislation and generate reports.

3 Training The method to be used for training KLR System Users for the 2006 Legislative session is the “Train the Trainer” method. Agencies will be requested to send representatives to the training sessions delivered by the Commonwealth Office of Technology during November 2006. These agency representatives will be responsible for training the rest of the agency’s KLR Users by the beginning of the Legislative session on January 3, 2006.

4 Incident Support Process KLR Users will have 3 ways of receiving support for KLR issues: Agency Trainer Agency Security Administrator (ASA) Commonwealth Service Desk

5 Incident Support Process Agency Trainer Application “How to” questions Agency Security Administrator (ASA) Provide User ID and password maintenance for the agency Provide level 1 technical support Agency contact for Commonwealth Service Desk

6 Incident Support Process Commonwealth Service Desk Point of Contact for all KLR issues –Application “How to” questions –Provide User ID and password maintenance for ASA’s and all agency KLR Users –Provide level 1 technical support –Open support ticket and escalate technical issues to either Development Support or Desktop Support as appropriate

7 Agency Responsibilities Identify Trainers (Primary and Backup) Identify ASA’s (Primary and Backup) Provide COT with list of KLR Users Provide COT with local desktop support contact Conduct training of agency KLR Users

8 COT Responsibilities Coordinate training of Agency trainers Provide development support for KLR application Provide point of contact for all KLR issues Escalate KLR issues if necessary –Development –Desktop Support –Office of the Secretary
