C_FA2MS, HS Fine Arts Minimum Schedule All Fine Arts classes meet on a daily basis throughout the entire school year. Students are placed in appropriate level classes according to their demonstrated levels of knowledge and skills as determined by the teacher, by gender for choir, and/or completion of prerequisite classes. Classes designated for advanced competing groups contain only advanced students. (Samples are available from the Fine Arts and Master Schedulers offices.) C_FA3ES Fine Arts Minimum Schedule The school provides the students with at least two (2) opportunities to perform in, actively participate in, or display their work in a fine arts related production or exhibition. C_FA4MS, HS Fine Arts Minimum Participation The school provides fine arts students at least four (4) opportunities to perform in, actively participate in, or display their work in a fine arts related production or exhibition. C_FA5ALL Fine Arts Minimum Enrichment All fine arts students are provided with the opportunity for a minimum of one of the following events: (a) a visit to an art museum / exhibit, (b) a visit to a music, dance or theatrical performance, or (c) attend a lecture / master class by a visiting artist / performer. (Grades K-4 = 22/1, Grade 5 = 28/1.) RE_FA2MS, HSFine Arts Ideal Schedule In addition to meeting the Compliance Criteria, all music students are separated into homogeneous beginner, intermediate, or advanced classes according to their demonstrated levels of knowledge and skills in the subject. All choral music classes are also organized by gender. Art and Theatre students are separated by level (1, 2, 3, or I, II, II, IV). HS dance and cheer groups practice in separate periods during the day. (Samples are available from the Fine Arts and Master Schedulers offices.) RE_FA3ES Fine Arts Ideal Participation Beyond the Compliance Criteria, the school provides students with a minimum of two (2) additional opportunities to perform in, actively participate in, or display their work in a fine arts related production or exhibition. RE_FA6ALLShared Arts Experience The school provides at least two (2) opportunities for students to experience the fine arts in cooperation with other schools and / or our community. RE_FA7ALL Before/After School Fine Arts Activities The school provides at least three (3) fine arts before/after school activities or student clubs. These will focus on some aspect of music, art, theatre, or dance. RE_FA8MS, HSFine Arts Competitions The school participates in at least two (2) interscholastic (UIL or non-UIL) competitions in music, art, theatre, or dance. RE_FA9ALL Interaction with Fine Arts Professionals The students have an opportunity to learn about creative careers through interaction with fine arts professionals or job fairs. RE_FA10ALL Fine Arts Instructional Strategies Fine Arts instruction and / or creative learning strategies are included in the 2014- 15 Campus Improvement Plan.
