4 Introduction What happened to Bud Caldwell? Let’s visit him ten years after the story ends!

5 Task When we left Bud it was the summer of 1936 and he had just been given his very own saxophone by the members of his grandfather’s band, Herman E. Calloway and the Dusky Devastators of the Depression. It’s ten years later when we drop in on Bud, or as he known by his band name Sleepy LaBone, and he really did learn to play that saxophone. In fact, he has been traveling all over the country performing with the biggest jazz artists around. The only thing is, we don’t know who these people are. We will need to do some research, listen to some sounds, and inform our classmates as to just who Bud’s been jammin with…
