1  What is something you feel is worth fighting for? Is anything worth killing for? If so, what?  3-4 sentences

2 The unjust use of government power. A ruler who uses power in this way is called a tyrant. Tyranny A rapid change in an organization, government or society. revolution

3  Student describe the relationship between moral and political ideas of the Great Awakening and the development of revolutionary fervor.

4  What were the main reasons colonists came to America?  Wealth/Money/Land  Religious Freedom

5  Church service could last 5 hours!  Houses were searched to make sure people were at church!

6  Future generations lost there passion for religion.  “The form of religion were kept up, but the power of Godliness was missing” pg 56.

7 People wanted to change old religious practices. We need to CHALLENGE the old ways!!! People start thinking that they can change government if they don’t like it too.

8  All people can be saved if they give themselves up to god and follow his law!  God loves everyone equally! Kings and common people.  Individual Relationship with God.

9  Who is the head of the Church of England? (the Anglican Church)  If you challenge the church, who are you challenging?  Colonists began to believe that all people were created equal under God, how does this effect a monarchy?

10  As you watch the BrainPop!, listen carefully for why the French and Indian War help cause the American Revolutionary War! TWO SENTENCES FOR NOTES  Write a one sentence summary for the French and Indian War.  Write a one sentence summary for how its led to the American Revolutionary War.

12  What do you see in this engraving?  How are the colonists portrayed?  How are the British soldiers portrayed?  According to this engraving, who is at fault in this Massacre? How do you know?

13  The Boston Massacre was a street fight that occurred on March 5, 1770, between a "patriot" mob, throwing snowballs, stones, and sticks, and a squad of British soldiers. Several colonists were killed and this led to a campaign by speech- writers to rouse the ire of the citizenry.

16  Why didn’t American’s want to pay taxes to England?  What is the “Bloody Massacre” or “Boston Massacre”?  Who won the first battle at Lexington?
