5 Teaching tasks: 1.To listen for specific information about opening hours. 2.To express wishes and request about a class trip. 3.To present information about opening days,opening hours prices and locations. Teaching focus: Identify specific details about price and opening hours. Teaching difficulties : Listen for general information in a radio programme about attractions.

6 Teaching procedures: Step 1 Revision 1.Check the homework 2.Revise questions like : (1).Do you eat apples? (2).Does Millie like reading?

7 Step 2 Free talk 1.What can we get from Listening and Reading? (Some information) Teach: information 2. What place do we call around us? (It's space) Teach: space 3.Where can we see old valuable things? (In the museum) Teach: museum 4.Teach :'trip, closed' in the same way.

8 Step 3 Lead--in 1. Ask :"Where do you often go at the weekends? 2. Discuss some places of interest and show some posters 3.Mr Wu will take the Class 1 students to have a school trip. Do you know where they are going? 4.Look at the three posters in PartA1. Write the name under each poster. 5.Talk about outing in Beijing or other places in China. 6.Complete the first four columns of the table in Part A2.

9 Step 4 Listening 1. T: Millie gets information about place,location,price and opening days, but she doesn't know the information about opening hours. 2. Play the tape Ss listen and complete the last column of the table. 3.Play the tape three times. Ss listen,discuss and check the answers.

10 Step 5 Make a suggestion 1.T: Now, Millie and her classmates know all the information and where they want to go.She writes a note back to Mr Wu. They are making a suggestion about where the class can go next Monday. 2.Ss read the letter on their own, and complete the note. Step 6 Homework Write a note to the teacher to make a suggestion as the model in PartA4.

13 Teaching procedures: Step 1 Lead--in 1.Introduce the common contexts of making requests. (1)May I open the window? (2)Can I borrow your pen? 2. Give more examples with "can, may". T: I can't find my pen.Can I borrow your pen please? Step 2 Pair work 1. S : Dad, may I go out now? F : No, you can't. You must do your homework first. 2 A : My bike is broken. Can I use yours? B :Yes,you can.Here you are.

14 Step 3 Reading 1.Go through Part B1.2.Listen and repeat. 3.Act in pairs. Step 4 Speak up 1. Practise the conversation in pairs and then change roles. 2. Ask Ss to construct their own conversation based on the models. Step 5 Lead--in 1.Show three pictures on Page 30. Go through each of the three pictures. 2.Complete Part B2 3.Have Ss read out the sentences and give for their choices.

15 Step 6 Pronunciation 1. Read the questions. Make the voice rise at the end of each questions. 2. Repeat after the tape. Step 7 Homework Practise making requests with "can,may " and write them down.
