2 TIME MANAGEMENT Good time management is essential to success at senior level. Many deadlines and events occur at the same time and unless you plan ahead you will find it impossible to manage. Planning your time allows you to spread your work and cope with study stress. The first step to good time management is to prioritise your tasks. Wise use of time is the key to success and not just in terms of schoolwork.

How is your time divided? It is important that you spend enough time on schoolwork but you must ensure you maintain balance with other commitments.

4 TIPS FOR EFFECTIVE TIME MANAGMEMT
Complete small tasks straight away rather than putting them off Break difficult or ‘boring’ tasks into sections Have regular study times Study is best done when the material is fresh your mind Make sure you set clear and achievable study goals

5 STUDY SCHEDULE Before you can even begin to think about studying you must develop a schedule. If you don’t have a schedule for studying then you will not have any way of allocating your valuable time when the unexpected comes up. No-one studies the same as anyone else. What works for one person may not work for another. A good and well thought out schedule is essential but you must make sure it meets your individual needs.

6 Here is a general template for a study schedule that you can use or adapt to suit your needs:
Mark in first on this planner personal commitments such as family obligations and part-time work. Then add school commitments such as homework and assessment tasks.

8 STUDY ENVIRONMENT Setting up a study area will help you to develop good study habits. An ideal study area would be… Quiet Free of distractions Comfortable Well lit and ventilated Tips… Have a large notice board in front of you to pin timetables, calendar etc Keep your area tidy and organized Prioritise your tasks Take study breaks Have everything you need on hand- avoid wasting time looking for materials
