2 Middle School Basics The middle school consists of students in grades 5-8 The middle school consists of students in grades 5-8 Our core curriculum consists of Math, Science, Social Studies, Language Arts/Reading, Ford PAS/Work Keys Our core curriculum consists of Math, Science, Social Studies, Language Arts/Reading, Ford PAS/Work Keys Students everyday receive a 7 th class period for ‘Specials’. These classes meet five times a week for nine weeks and include the following: STEM, Current Events, Journalism/Newspaper Students everyday receive a 7 th class period for ‘Specials’. 3 Organization Grade 5-6: Doors open at 7:40am. Classes begin at 7:50am and dismiss at 3:05pm. Students receive a 30 minute lunch period. 4 Organization K-4: Doors open 7:30am/ Classes begin 7:40am and dismissal is 2:55pm 5-8: Doors open 7:45am/ Classes begin 7:55am and dismissal is 3:05pm 9-12: Classes begin at 8:00am and dismiss at 3:15pm

5 Organization -Student drop off/ pick up will take place at front of building until further notice. -A lunch and breakfast program are offered. Additional info will follow soon on times and eligibility requirements. -New students will receive two ATA polo shirts. Extra polo shirts and sweatshirts are available for purchase.

12 After School Academic/Intervention Programs The Academy currently offers an ACE program M-Th from 3:30-5:30pm. This extended day program reinforces what the students are learning in the classroom. There are also Title1 teachers and paraprofessionals that work with students during the school day in a small group setting which allows for more individualized attention. 13 Faculty All faculty at the Advanced Technology Academy are certified by the State of Michigan and teach to their content area strengths per individual grade level. Our staff members try to instill respect for all. We try to educate beyond the classroom and show students by example how to be successful in all aspects of life. 14 Special Education Special needs students at ATA are referred to the Special Education Department for review/testing and implementation of the IEP. Every effort is made to keep the students in their general education classroom and the special education teacher works with the general education teacher to make the required accommodations. Each student receives between 1-5 hours a week of service. There is no resource room facility at the Academy. Please contact LuAnn Felske at 625-4684 for further information.
