Janice Kiernan Honor someone you love with a Give a Good Night greeting card that gives the gift of hope. Your Give a Good Night purchase provides safe shelter, a hot meal and essential services to homeless families and individuals who turn to the Sulzbacher Center for help and hope. From our club, new member Karl Price, President Lal Ramdeen, Lt. Governor Butch Shadwell attended the CLE/DCM. NO BIRTHDAYS OR ANNIVERSARIES On Tuesday, June 4tth, Karl Price and John Bates read to the preschoolers at the Navy Child Development Center. INTERCLUB We had an Interclub with the Fernandina Club at our last meeting. Stan Storey spoke on the Kiwanis project "Eliminate" to eliminate neonatal tetanus. Lal, our resident microbiologist, pointed out that 3 shots are given to each new born in the US, diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis. KIWANIS EDUCATIION Kiwanis Interclub Kiwanis Interclub: An "interclub" is accomplished when a minimum of four members of the same club visit another Kiwanis club meeting or organized Kiwanis event that is hosted by another club. Individual attendance while interclubbing can also be used towards making up attendance at the interclubber's home club when a meeting is misssed. Thank You, Janice, for your informative and interesting presentation. Friends, I am pleased to report that we had an excellent CLE/DCM on Saturday. We missed our friends from the Deerwood Club, Downtown Club, and the Westside Club, but the five clubs attending enjoyed it very much. If your club president elect was unable to attend last Saturday there is another opportunity for them to get this essential training. This coming Saturday in Lake City, it is being offered again. Let me and Tom Weller know if someone from your club would like to attend. Tom Weller and Jonathan Earle were great at presenting the Kiwanis training program and the club representatives had a lot of opportunity to discuss issues and solutions to club operations. I have attached files with all of the club contact information I have at this time. If some are wrong I need you all to supply me with the correct contacts for this and the next Kiwanis year for the president and secretary. As was requested at the meeting, I have created a Division 5 Facebook page. It will be very valuable if the Kiwanians in Division 5 could all look here to get an update on club activities and issues. Please post your pictures, comments, and web links to your clubs newsletters, projects, and fundraisers. https://www.facebook.com/KiwanisInternationalFloridaDivision5 Please Like this FB page. Also, we still need a Lt Gov for 2013-14 and a Lt Gov Elect for 2014-2015. Please encourage any past presidents in your clubs to volunteer for these important positions. https://www.facebook.com/KiwanisInternationalFloridaDivision5 Cheers, Butch REPORT FROM BUTCH SHADWELL DIVISION 5 LT.
