They exchanged goods for herbs, plants & ointments that were known to have healing properties. Trade

10 Key question Explain how the Romans learnt about disease. Malaria When soldiers camped near marshes they became ill with MALARIA. Dirty water = Disease Hospitals – built for soldiers with trained doctors & surgeons. Mostly depended on herbal medicine, simple surgery, or rest, diet & exercise.
