PURPOSE OF THE PROGRAM 1. To provide services to Low Performing Schools 2. Schools not making Average Yearly Progress (AYP) 3. Children who are in Title One Schools 3. Reading & Mathematics 4. 2 hrs per day – 2 days per week 5. Monday – Saturday 6. 1:3, 1:5, & 1:8 ratios 7. Special Needs IEP & 504

Site/Location 1. Conducive to learning 2. Safe and Orderly 3. Free of any noticeable hazards 4. Clean, organized and well lit 5. Temperature controlled (Meeting OSHA Standards 6. Facility must have Exit signs posted 7. Facility must have an inspection clearance on file 8. Facility must have a visible occupancy notice

INSTRUCTIONAL PROGRAM AND STRATEGIES 1. Teach from the goals and objectives listed on the student’s plan (2 Math & 2 Reading). 2. Locate the instructional materials in the text provided and teach the materials. 3. Provide an activity for the student that supports the objective. 4. Allow the students to summarize (orally) the materials taught. 5. Jot down notes in order to effectively write the Progress Reports.

Monitoring & Evaluating Student Achievement 1. Pre-test must be graded and turned in. Keep note of the grades and accomplishments of your students. 2. Make sure that you jot down notes regarding the progress made by your students daily. 3. Develop a checklist of goals and objectives on student’s plans.
